Sorry it's been a little quiet...

Sorry I've not posted much lately! Soon to be moving to Manchester so been sorting that out. Currently working full time has meant not having as much time as I would like to spend on my illustration work, but that should soon change :)

Currently creating design work for a stamp company, so focusing on my line work. I'll update with new artwork as I get a chance!

Apocalypse

My latest project entitled 'Apocalypse'.

Hand drawn elements combined using Photoshop.

Representing the downward spiral of of the economy in today's world through a dwindling path of skyscrapers, towers and shops set on fire. Scrunched up paper as the background symbolises how people are aware of this downfall but choose to plead ignorance towards it.

Hello! Illustration

I decided to create a new logo image for my Facebook/Etsy/Twitter pages which showed a bit about me (my fondness for coffee and the fact I have a Jack Russell) and here was the result. I don't normally draw people so sorry if it looks a little amateurish. Just wanted something a bit more fun and not so serious.

Testing Lines

Below are a few illustrations I have created over the past few months. They are simple line work; firstly some movie poster artwork for the film 'Juno', where the line work has been drawn and scanned in and colour added using Photoshop. The second is a pen drawing of a French village, taken from my sketchbook.

Prehistoric

My illustration for this weeks Illustration Friday, supporting the theme 'Prehistoric'.

I'm a huge fan of the prehistoric landscape so I chose to stick with that, whilst shying away from the usual dinosaurs/prehistoric animal type drawings. I used ammonites and shells as decoration to make it into a spot illustration and ferns for composition and they also add some interesting shapes.

Tarot Card Illustrations ~ 'The Hermit' and 'The Hanged Man'

My latest project has been working with Tarot cards, as the images on them tend to follow a tradition. I initially thought playing cards but decided on Tarot cards as they are a bit more mysterious. More to come soon, hopefully.
